Throwing a dog birthday party or a dog party for your pooch does not have to be stressful, it can be all-out or simply do it yourself dog party. One thing you do know your dog will not be disappointed.

A dog party does not have to only be for a birthday it can be for any occasion. You do not have to wait for your dog’s birthday to bring out your party shoes!
What is your Budget?
You need to decide how much you would like to spend for your dog’s party. Like any event, you need to have a budget. This will help you with decision-making and what you do and do not want.
Who are you Going to Invite?
For dog lovers, getting an invite to a dog party is like getting a golden ticket to Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory. Even if you are not a social bunny for most dog lovers there is nothing more they would rather do than spend an afternoon surrounded by dogs.
You will need to first consider your dog. You need to ask yourself can your dog handle dog parties? Some dogs do not like crowds or take longer to warm to strangers. This does not mean you cannot hold a day of celebration, it just means you will need to fit with your dog’s needs.
The option is maybe to share a dog birthday cake or a cupcake or two and dog presents with their favorite human. Another suggestion would be to invite a few humans over that your dog feels comfortable with. You as the dog owner knows your dog the best and you can only make that decision for your dog.
If you do want to invite other dogs, just make sure your dog has met those dogs and played with them in the past. Remember the dog party is for your dog not just for you!

Location, Location, Location
When deciding on a dog birthday or dog party venue, you will need to think about the venue, time of year, and the amount of time. A dog party should only last for about two hours, that is just the right amount of fun. Any more time than that then the dogs can get miserable and tired. Holding your dog party outdoors, for example in your garden would definitely be the easier option as there will be no bathroom leaks and the dogs are less able to destroy things.
If you want to hold your dog party indoors then here are some options.
1. Inside Your Home – This can work for only 4 dogs, but this will be dependent on the size of the dogs.
2. Your Garden Space – You could hold your dog’s party in your back garden or if you do not have a garden you could ask a friend or relative if you could use their outdoor space.
3. A Dog Park – check with the park’s management to see if you can rent a space, bringing all your dog’s party toys.
4. Dog Beach – If you are lucky enough to live on the coast or a large river and there is a dog-friendly beach, this could be another option. The humans could enjoy a beach day and the dogs could get into all kinds of shenanigans
5. Dog Party Centres – Some doggie day care centres will rent a space or may even give you a space for free as a way of showcasing their facility.
Gifts for Dogs
On the invitation to your dog’s party, you can let your guests know whether or not they should bring a dog gift and if so what kind. Your dog may have an allergy or prefers only certain dog toys. You may want your guests to donate money in his or her honor to a dog local rescue or shelter group. Just decide what works best for you and your dog.
Treats Galore!
Setting the stage really sets the mood! On adorable paper plates, a gorgeous display of doggie treats that all are natural and grain-free will always go down well. You will need to ensure that prior to the dog party you ask your humans if their dogs have any allergies.
Which Birthday Cake?
The awesome pièce de résistance is of course the dog birthday cake! If other dogs are coming ask if they are sensitive to grain so you can get a cake that is grain-free. Never give dogs human cakes! Ordering a dog cake from a supplier or making your own, is your choice. There are tons of sugar in human cakes and are very bad for dogs. Nothing shuts down a party when a dog is sick. Remember less is more!
