My Preparation
Louis is my first puppy. I did not have a clue how I was going to cope but knew that I was not going to give up. In preparation for his arrival Elizabeth, the breeder, advised me to purchase a bed, collar, lead, harness, a few toys to chew on and some training mats.

The New Arrival
When I brought Louis home, he was the cutest thing ever and he slept most of the time. Elizabeth advised me how to keep him safe by “puppy proofing” the house such as not having any electrical wires visible as puppies love to chew.
Another good tip from Elizabeth was that when Louis started spinning around it was a sign he needed to poo. I had to watch out for this and as soon as I saw Louis spinning, I immediately took him into the garden. Over time, I noticed that Louis did not like anyone seeing him wee or poo and would hide behind a bush to do his business. Three years on and he is still the same way.
Louis Loves
Louis loves shoes and does not care what colour or type. He will chew on anything thing left lying around but, fortunately, I do not need to worry about him chewing on electric cables or furniture being scratched as Louis is not interested in these items.

Also, Louis loves his sleep, but when he sees his red Puppia harness he gets very excited as he knows he is going out with mum and dad. Louis is never happier than when he is meeting new people on his walks.
Louis the “diva”
One day, Louis decided he wanted to stop and have a rest by lying on his tummy, all paws stretched out. A car drove up to Louis and stopped. The passenger got out of the car and asked whether I needed help and offered Louis water. I replied that “when Louis does not want to walk he will not move”, but when Louis saw the passenger, he literally jumped up for joy. Louis is a “diva” and always wants to be the centre of attention.

Leader of the Pack
When Louis visits his sister and cousins in Bournemouth and goes for walks in the forest, he will always be at the front as Louis likes to be the leader.

I cannot believe how much I have fallen in love with my Louis. He is the best!
I hope you have enjoyed reading about my experiences with my first puppy.
